Yves and Marie made us welcome from the first day of our weeks long skiing break in January 04. The food and wine were excellent as was Yves attention to any additional requests we had. The Gite at Montvilliers is within a short drive of the Montalbert ski station, which Yves or Marie provided an excellent taxi service in their 4x4 minibus with ski carrier. A large and yet friendly Gite with good sized rooms all on-suite with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. The only criticism was the lack of seating in the present lounge (TV) area, but when the separate large easy room is completed it will become a top class residence at unbeatable value.
Thank you Yves and Marie for a wonderful break and I look forward to our next holiday at the Gite de Montvillier.

Our stay at the Gite has exceeded all expectations. Yves, Maria and the girls made us feel extremely welcome, and sharing meals with the other guests was a nice way of spending the evenings. The food was fantastic, including the vegetarian options, and formed an important element of the 'Gite de Montvilliers experience'.We simply could not have wished for a better way to stay in France while at the same time enjoying the beautiful La Plagne ski area. Who needs hotels or s/c apartments when there are gites like Gite de Montviliers.
Yves, Maria, Sarah, Elisa and Carla, many many thanks for your hospitality! We'll be back.

The hospitality at Gite de Montvilliers was outstanding. With the ambience of a relaxed family home and excellent cooking to welcome us back from the piste, it was the perfect place to socialise before another day's skiing from the superb Montalbert.A special thank you too for your concern and all your help after my fall. The knee is getting better and we'll be back next year!
We really could not have had better hosts, so Yves, Maria and family a big thank you from Yorkshire!

My sincere thanks to Yves and Maria for a wonderful 3 days at Gite De Montvilliers. Your warm welcome and generous hospitality were very much appreciated by our party of 6 family members. The breakfasts and evening meals were delicious and we enjoyed the local flavours and cuisine. The setting was truly beautiful, and we took the opportunity to go walking in this pristine environment. My husband touched snow for the first time! The rooms are large, well appointed, comfortable and very clean.
This proved to be a perfect place for our family reunion.
We fell in love with 3 year old Carla too.

I stayed at the Gites de Montvilliers for a week February with a large group of friends. It was absolutely brilliant. The family could not have been nicer and the food was top class. It was the perfect holiday!

I have a long held passion for off piste skiiing in the general area of the Isere Valley. The Gite de Montvilliers is a find worth remembering. It is isolated ,accessible, full of alpine charm and a real discovery. Add to this it is run by a charming family whose aim seems to be of great help. The michelin guide would say ca vaut un detour I would endorse this , and selfishly hope not too many people find it as it is so lovely . I wish the family well in this new venture thry deserve to succeed

We had a super week at Chalet de Montvilliers. Yves and Maria were charming hosts and every wish was catered for. A lovely place to stay away from the tower blocks and commercalism of La Plagne but with access from the little atmospheric village of Montalbert to the huge sking area of Paradiski. Yves was there every morning to take us to the lifts and to pick us up in the evening whenever we wished. It took about 45 minutes to reach Plagne Centre from Mont Albert by very scenic chairlifts and skiing a few blue runs. Our grandson Lucas went to Oxygene ski school in Plagne centre which started at 10am and we can highly recommend it.We have many happy memories of our stay and really enjoyed being part of your family - Thankyou Yves and Maria and of course little Carla- we will come and see you againBest wishes

February, 2006. I have just returned from a 5 day trip to Montalabert. Sking was great & Gite Montvillers is the perfect place to stay. Comfortable rooms, friendly helpful owners, great food & a short distance from the lift. Could do with a better/larger social/seating area but congregating at dinner is good fun. Montalabert is a good base for skiing the whole of the Paradiski area.I will definitely be back again!

A warm welcome awaited our arrival here - smiling hosts, a roaring fire and shots of eau de vie !This set the tone for our stay at Montviliier - a totally different experience from the usual hit-or-miss resort apartment, chalet or hotel, and one which I am sure we will repeat. Meals are prepared with great style by Yves & Maria with their family, who then join guests round a traditional long table in the old schoolroom to make dinner an event to be savoured and enjoyed in a very warm relaxed atmosphere. Rooms are simple, well appointed, with very comfortable beds. The Gite lies off the beaten road to la Plagne, standing within the unchanged boundaries of a hamlet where neighbours clear each others' snow unbidden and where the night sky can be viewed free of any halogen glare. Very good traditional food offered by charming hosts and an experience not to be missed! Thankyou & well done to the whole family who I am sure will put the Gite de Montvilliers on the map as it deserves.
